Leading transport provider First Bus has agreed a new long term 5 year contract with key supplier and chemical manufacturing specialist Chela Ltd. The national contact includes supply into all First Bus operating companies and covers the following cleaning applications….

• Automatic buswash systems
• Chassis and Engine cleaning
• Interior hard surfaces cleaning
• Interior graffiti, chewing removal and odour control
• Workshop floor cleaning
• Pit cleaning
• Winter and summer screenwash

Reducing carbon footprint, high cleanliness levels and using fleet-safe detergents are key priorities for First Bus. The fleet-specific detergents supplied by Chela Ltd meet all stringent warranty directives as set out by key bus manufacturers. As well as being fleet safe, the detergents utilised across the First Bus fleet provide high levels of cleanliness and presentation ensuring a clean and pleasant environment for FirstBus passengers.
In addition to specialist chemical supply, Chela’s RecyclePlus Packaging scheme is implemented across all First Bus sites. Much of the chemical industry utilises 205L plastic HDPE containers, most of which are disposed in landfill/incineration once used. 56kg of co2 is released during the incineration process per 1x205L container. All Chela supplied containers are uplifted from First Bus sites, recycled and re-used where possible.
