Removing baked on grease can be a nightmare, and no one wants to spends hours scrubbing away in the kitchen. Here at Chela, we’ve developed a step-by-step guide to show you how to remove baked on grease, featuring our miracle product, Alkagel 172. Alkagel 172 is a stable alkaline gel that cuts through baked grease, fats and oils with no need to dilute with water. Its gel formula has many benefits: it allows it to cling to vertical surfaces, maintain its viscosity when warm and act fast. It can be used in two ways: in-situ cleaning and soak cleaning.
Removing Baked on Grease: In-Situ Cleaning
- Apply Alkagel to your surface, spraying it or using a brush. Not only is Alkagel effective on warm surfaces (> 65 degrees Celsius) thanks to its high boiling point and low odour, but it can also be used on cold surfaces – making it super versatile.
- Alkagel works quickly. Simply allow 15 minutes for the item to soak, agitating occasionally with a brush or a scouring pad.
- To remove the toughest baked on grease, leave the gel on for up to one hour. If leaving the gel on, it is important to not let the product dry. If you do find it drying, simply add some more gel to remoisten the surface.
- Finally, rinse off the baked on grease using clean water and agitating with a brush or scouring pad for the best removal. If needed, repeat steps 1 – 4 to remove any remaining baked on grease.
- For an optional added sparkle, rinse the surface with vinegar.
Removing Baked on Grease: Soak Cleaning
- Immerse small items that have baked on grease on them into a small bath of Alkagel.
- Leave for as long as necessary to help remove the baked on grease.
- Use a pad or scouring brush to remove any loosened grease.
- Finally, rinse the item well in water. Repeat if necessary.
